Based on a government decision, the former "Iranian Research Organization of Science & Technology (IROST)", which started its activities in 1989, was newly founded as GSTP in 2002. In the first step ICT was considered as a main area of interest for GSTP, so the ICT Incubator Centre was launched as a first sub division of GSTP. Moreover there is a plan to develop a second incubator named Comprehensive Technology Incubator during the next few months. The main aim of GSTP is to support innovators and commercialization of research studies in cooperation with universities and research institutes.
